10 Things to do on Vegas's Fremont Street

Fremont Street offers a wide variety of not-to-be missed experiences.
Fremont Street represents the oldest part of Las Vegas and can be considered the second most important street in the city behind the Strip. Until the creation of the great modern hotels and casinos on the Strip, Fremont Street WAS Las Vegas. Down Fremont, you found the most iconic casinos, such as the Golden Nugget, that featured in so many of Hollywood s classic movies. So, here are 10 things to do on Vegas Fremont Street.

1- Fremont Experience:

The Fremont Experience, a digital video canopy that occupies five blocks, is composed of more than 12 million LED lights that enact fantastic video/light shows. The venue has become the main tourist attraction for Downtown Las Vegas. It is the site of many free concerts and the Las Vegas New Year Party.

2- Spin for Free

Several casinos along Fremont Street have free-spin slot machines near the entrance. It s not a guaranteed win, but if you do win, you can win big.

3 - Photo-op with A Million Dollars

Most of us will never have a million dollars in cash. However, if you visit Binion's Gambling Hall you can get your picture taken with a pyramid of cash equaling 1 million dollars.

4 - Photo-op with the Hand Of Faith

Visit the world-famous Golden Nugget casino and you will have the opportunity to get your picture with the world s largest gold nugget. Called the Hand of Faith, this giant nugget weighs in at an impressive 875 ounces.

5 - Visit The Heart Attack Grill:

On Fremont Street, you will find the Heart Attack Grill, a hamburger restaurant whose entire philosophy is to serve the fattiest, greasiest, most obscenely unhealthy but delicious burgers possible.

6 - A Trip Amongst The Clouds:

SlotZilla, which opened in 2014, is an experience that allows tourists to travel the 450 meters of the Fremont Experience by sliding down a zip line.

7 - Visit Container Park

The Las Vegas Downtown Container Park is in fact a really hip outdoor shopping mall. What sets it apart from other malls in Vegas is the fact that all of the shops are housed inside repurposed metal containers.

8 - Bar Hop

Fremont Street is home to some of the best and coolest bars Vegas has to offer. My personal favorites are the Griffin and Hogs and Heifers.

9 - Late-Night Pizza

Few things are better in life than eating a cheesy slice of pizza after a night of drinking, On Fremont, you'll be able to eat some of the best pizza in the state of Nevada. My favorite is the Balls To The Wall meatball pizza from Evel Pie.

10 - Try Absinthe

There are many Absinthe bars in Las Vegas, and some of them are found along Fremont Street. I recommend the famed Laundry Room, located at 525 E Fremont Street. The atmosphere of this renowned lounge and bar makes for an unforgettable experience.
